On the song’s inspiration, you may think Old Town Road — but Chanel West Coast says it’s actually Old Hollywood!
The Ridiculousness cohost explains:
“Old fashioned is a song I made about keepin’ it classy like they used too. There’s something about old Hollywood glamour that I respond too. Back in the day when people got together, spoke to one another and experienced life outside the worlds of our phone. Having values in which you come home for dinner, a man opens a car door, and finding love was going out on dates, not just sliding in DM’s. My whole upcoming project I’m taking it back to things that warm my heart, inspire me, and have a little nostalgia.”
Sounds amazing! But don’t for a moment confuse liking the Old Fashioned with wanting to completely go back in time!
Chanel is a feminist through and through, and she likes living in 2019! She explains:
“But don’t get it twisted, I’m about women’s rights and leaps and bounds we as women have made. Just want to see some real gentlemen and women out there keep it classy and sexy. At least part of the time lmfao!”
