Father Defends 21-Year-Old Babysitter Who Had Sex With His 11-Year-Old Son, Says It’s ‘A Notch On His Belt’

You don’t see this one every day…

A babysitter in the United Kingdom is in hot water after having sex with the 11-year-old boy she was supposed to be looking after.

But in a twist, the child’s father is… defending the babysitter??

21-year-old Jade Hatt allegedly seduced the boy last November — when she was 20 — while he was off of school for the day.

Everything would seem pretty cut-and-dry in this awful case, except the boy’s father has come out defending the sitter!

Speaking in court, the boy’s father — who can’t be named for legal protection reasons — said that his son may have fooled the babysitter into thinking he was older than 11:

“I know he told her he was 15. He looks older than his years. He is sex mad. He would have been fully up for this experience and in many ways sees it as a notch on his belt and is totally unaffected by it.”

What the what?! Even for a 15-year-old, the idea of a “notch on his belt” is… unsettling, to say the least. And, oh yeah, the boy wasn’t 15, he was ELEVEN, so regardless of how mature he may have seemed about it, it’s still wrong!!

Prosecutor Hannah Squire alleged that Hatt was already sexually involved with the boy’s father as she revealed details of the case:

“The defendant was friends with the boy’s father, with whom she had had a brief sexual relationship. He would ask her to babysit – she had babysat his 11-year-old son on six or seven occasions. On one of those occasions this offence took place. It was during the day and the boy was off school. The defendant arrived at about 11.30am. The boy was laying down, Jade Hatt sat on top of him, sat astride him, took off her clothes and removed his. Sexual intercourse took place. According to him it was fairly brief – about 45 seconds. She told him she enjoyed it, he said he had not as it was wrong.”

Hatt, who apparently had leukemia as a child and spent nearly two years in the hospital, was portrayed throughout the legal maneuvering as a very immature adult, at least according to judge Tim Mousley:

“Having read everything before me, it was quite clear he was a mature 11-year-old and you were an immature 20-year-old so that narrows the arithmetic age gap between you.”

Um… even if the boy were super mature for his age, he’s still ELEVEN YEARS OLD and the “arithmetic age gap” can NOT be a legal term!

Either way, Hatt was given a six-month suspended sentence and now must register as a sex offender for seven years — and she’s been banned from any contact with boys without supervision.

What do U think about this — did the judge go too easy on Hatt? Should they take a closer look why the father thinks it’s OK for his 11-year-old son to be putting a “notch in his belt”??

So many questions…
