Jennifer Aniston Did NOT Like Paul Rudd On 'Friends'!

Paul Rudd Jennifer Aniston Friends Awkward

Everyone loves Paul Rudd. He’s just the most affable guy on the planet, right? We mean, is anyone immune to his charms??

Well, apparently so.

It seems one person who wasn’t buying the Ant-Man and the Wasp star’s schtick, at least in the early days, was Jennifer Aniston!

From the way he tells it, during their days filming Friends, Rachel was NOT a Paul Rudd fan at all!

During an interview on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Paul took a break from promoting his weird Netflix doppelgänger show Living With Yourself to talk about the good ol’ days on the beloved sitcom.

As fellow guest Robert De Niro‘s former assistant could tell you, Rudd joined the sitcom toward the very end as Phoebe’s BF and eventual husband Mike. That resulted in a strange moment for the actor, being a part of the season finale. He said:

“It was an incredible thing to be part of and the whole experience, but seems a bit surreal and a bit of a blur in my memory.

The show was a phenomenon and I was in the very last episode, which made no sense to me whatsoever.”

For the six main cast and all the creators and crew, this was a huge, emotional farewell — for Paul it was just another episode.

He tried to make the most of the awkwardness by making light of the situation with some self-deprecating irony:

“I was on the sound stage. And Jennifer Aniston was crying and I thought, ‘I’m not supposed to be here.’ So to break the ice, I went over and said, ‘Well, we did it! What a ride!’ The joke inevitably fell flat.”

Well, we thought it was funny!

Of course it might not have been his delivery so much as the fact Jennifer Aniston was never his biggest fan?

The way he tells it, his first impression on her left MUCH to be desired.

“I was on the set for my first episode and Jennifer was on a Segway because she had broken her toe, and everyone was marveling at it.

Matt LeBlanc asked to have a go and immediately knew how to do it. I then asked to try it too. I spun round and rolled it right over Jennifer’s foot.”

The one she had injured?? Oh no!

He’s lucky she wasn’t a super diva, or he would have been fired! Which is exactly what he was afraid of:

“The producers’ look of panic was if to say, ‘Is it too late to fire him? Has his character been established yet?’ I felt awful. Such an inauspicious start.”

Luckily it all ended up fine in the end.

Paul became a big movie star and even made a comedy with Jen, Wanderlust. So we assume she eventually came around and joined the Paul Rudd fan club. Probably.

Do YOU know anyone who doesn’t like Paul Rudd??
