Justin Bieber has made it pretty clear that he’s not exactly thrilled that One Direction will be dropping their latest album on the same day he is.
And now he wants to make sure that everyone totally understands that they copied him.
The singer opened up during an interview with New Zealand radio show The Edge last week about why exactly he thinks the X Factor alums chose to release their fifth album Made In The A.M. on the same day he’ll be putting out his fourth, titled Purpose.

The 21-year-old called it a “friendly competition,” but his reaction seemed more defensive than friendly. He said:
“I think it was strategy on their part because my release date was first.”
Wow! He REALLY wants the world to know he picked the November 13 date before the boy band!
But that’s not all! The What Do You Mean songbird even accused Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne off piggybacking off of his success! He remarked:
“[They’re] not really going on the road much, but we’re talking about them now, so it gives them some promo, right?”
So. Much. Shade!
But once again, he insists there’s no bad blood here, adding:
“But, whatever. It’s whatever. It’s gonna be fun. I’m excited to see what happens.”
Right. Sounds like you’re having a BLAST with this news, Justin!
In September, the Biebs took to Snapchat to mock their rivaling release, implying that 1D should be scared that their music comes out the same day as his!
But Louis was quick to fire back with a Twitter video of his own!
