Madge, Come Home!

Madonna‘s hometown wants her back. They’re even going through Poppa Ciccone to get her.
Mayor Charles M. Brunner of Bay City, Michigan, is offering her Madjesty a key to the city, where her father still lives, including her 96 year old grandmother, and other family members.
And included in the festivities, there are plans to recruit local musicians to cover some of her largest hits, and there’s even talks about commissioning an artist to make a sculpture of her.
Mayor Brunner has emailed Poppa Ciccone, and is awaiting a response.
But will Madonna accept an offer from a city that’s rejected her so many times?????
Back in 1985, then Mayor Timothy G. Sullivan refused to give her a key since she was considered a bit too “risque for such an honor.”
Also in the late ’80s, city officials refused to accept an Italian sculpture of Madonna, since they believed she would lose her popularity over time.
Someone was wrong!!!!!
City Commissioner Christopher J. Shannon said “Far and wide, she wields significant influence in the arts and entertainment world. For Bay City to turn its back on that, it would be a shame.”
