Sir Patrick Stewart is a knight in shining armor.
Dawn Garrigus, is an avid 11-year old Star Trek fan from Statesboro, Georgia. She also happens to suffer from mitochondrial disease, which is a life threatening illness.
Thanks to the the Make-A-Wish foundation, Dawn was not only able to go to Georgia’s Dragon Con, she was able to attend a person meet and greet with THE Captain Picard!
According to Dawn, meeting Patrick was like meeting the captain of the Enterprise himself:
“I was shy at first, not sure what to say or talk about, but he kept talking to me. I felt like I was on the Enterprise talking to the captain. And suddenly, I was OK.”
We’re glad this stellar (and interstellar) meeting could take place.
