Sam Smith has one disgruntled fan.
The 26-year-old singer has been accused of fat-shaming a woman in a California restaurant after he posted a video on his Instagram Story where he zoomed in on her breakfast and wrote, “Good going.” His boyfriend, Brandon Flynn, can also be seen in the video (screenshot above).

The woman in question, Lauren Brooks, told The Daily Star of later seeing herself on the Brit’s IG:
“It seems as if he is fat-shaming me for having such a big breakfast. He has 9.5million followers – and anyone who knew me and followed him would recognise me right away. Imagine if I was a girl who was even slightly insecure about her weight. To have a celeb mock her for eating a meal would be horrendous.”
A rep for Sam responded to the accusation, telling the Digital Spy:
“Sam posted because he was jealous of her fabulous breakfast.”
The Stay With Me artist has faced his own battle with weight and insecurity, so we certainly hope he wasn’t making fun of anyone.
