Wendy Williams continues to untether herself from estranged husband Kevin Hunter.
According to TMZ, Wendy’s soon-to-be ex has been fired from her show, where he’s worked as executive producer for years. Kevin was expected to get the ax when the TV personality served him divorce papers last week, but on Thursday he was officially given the boot.

A spokesperson for The Wendy Williams Show told the outlet:
“Kevin Hunter is no longer an executive producer on ‘The Wendy Williams Show.'”
Baggage removed!
Over the past week, Wendy and Kevin were said to be in the process of reaching an “accord” where he’d step down as exec producer. While there were no issues with his job performance, the daytime diva was apparently suffering from stress due to his presence on set.
After Wendy first made the filing, sources explained that the details of the couple’s divorce would take some time to hash out, seeing as they have both professional and personal entanglements with each other.
But Wendy’s clearly wasting no time detangling herself from Hunter, who allegedly fathered a child with his alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson, earlier this year.
As we reported, the talkshow host has reportedly hired extra security to protect her from Hunter both at work and home. Wendy’s decision to “beef up” the number of guards makes more sense now that we know she officially gave Kevin the axe; though it also might have something to do with the rumors that he may have been the cause of Williams’ shoulder injury last year.

Wendy has yet to address the divorce directly, but has definitely alluded to it in recent episodes of her show. A day after the divorce filing, she admitted to going through a “situation” and, days later, joked about the irony that her “business” is now one of the Hot Topics she normally talks about on her show.
While recently catching her audience up on other new developments in her life, like how she was leaving the sober house she was living in over the past few weeks, the former radio host said she was focused on living a “whole new life” with her 18-year-old son, Kevin Jr., revealing:
“You wear a different mask when you’re out here. Everybody has things in their life that they’re … not ready to share with the world. Addressing my sobriety, my addiction, head-on has really helped me sort out every single compartment of my life. I have a commitment to me and my son to come out of here better, stronger and faster than ever. And by the way, I will still commit. … I commit that the motto of this show will always be, ‘Their business is our business.’”
Sounds like Wendy’s beyond ready for the next chapter of her life! We’re proud of her for enacting the strength within to do so.
