Wendy Williams is apparently taking no chances with her safety…
The popular daytime talk show host has reportedly hired extra security to protect her from her estranged husband Kevin Hunter both at work and at home, according to a new report out Thursday morning in Page Six.

The decision made to “beef up” the number of guards who are protecting her reportedly stems from what’s now being reported as her “deteriorated” relationship with Hunter, after first officially filing for divorce from him last week.
It doesn’t appear that Hunter has made any direct, recent threat to Williams or those around her, it should be noted, but he has long been involved with her eponymous talk show, and allegations of past abuse have previously surfaced against Hunter, as well.
As you’ll remember from back in December, allegations floated around that Hunter may have been the cause of Williams’ shoulder injury, among other significant health ailments. While nothing has been proven against Hunter and all of these reports are nothing more than allegations, others have also come forward against the producer, with one musician alleging this week that Hunter “practically” raped him, and held the man as a “boy toy.”
For what it’s worth, her estranged ex — through his legal team — has very strongly denied the rape allegations. It should also be noted that Hunter released a magnanimous statement about Williams following their divorce news, noting the moment was a time for him to work on “self reflection.”
It’s been a dramatic few months for Wendy, who openly has struggled with addiction issues and assorted health problems as well as her deteriorating marriage to Hunter.
The 54-year-old missed significant time on her TV talk show, but she’s since returned to apparently good health — and to TV — as she seems to be once again getting back to the top of her game.

She had been married to Hunter for approximately 22 years before filing for divorce last week; the pair has one 18-year-old son, Kevin Jr., together.
No official word from Wendy’s reps — or Kevin’s — about the reported extra security, but we’ll update you once we know more. Truly hoping for the best for them both going forward.
