So sad!
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Whoopi Goldberg was noticeably absent from the View as she left to be with her dying brother, Clyde K. Johnson.
Reportedly, the Oscar winner rushed to California on Monday to be at 65-years-old’s side before he passed of a brain aneurysm. The star has yet to confirm her brother’s death.

Her family at The View noted the beloved host’s absence as they took to Twitter and shared:

It’s said that the siblings were incredibly close — as Clyde served as the comedienne’s driver for years. Tragic!
What must be the hardest part for Whoopi is that this loss comes a few years after the passing of her mother.
On her mother’s death, the TV personality stated:
“And so, I’m not sad because she had a great time… I think I’m just sad sometimes because I think who will love me the way that she did? But I realized that my brother and I have each other so we’re OK.”
