Ben Ramirez is from El Paso, Texas. Born in China, he was given up for adoption because of his disability – he has one arm.
But that doesn’t stop him from kicking butt in his team swimming competitions. Our little hero won a gold AND bronze medal for his team.
Not too shabby, eh?
Here’s what his mother said:

“In the beginning, what gave him the most problems was that little kids would stare and they’d ask questions and he was more embarrassed about that. It was not so much what he couldn’t do, but people looking at him. [But] he’s a pretty tough guy.”

We’ll say!!!
Here’s what the inspiring winner said:

├óΓé¼┼ôIt gets exhausting and it gets, like, cold, so you have to keep on trying until you get to first. [Everyday I think] Just keep on trying and one day, you’ll accomplish it.”

So wise beyond his years!
