Amy Slaton is a single woman again.
The star of TLC‘s hit show 1000 Lb Sisters has split from her husband, Michael Halterman, according to court docs obtained by US Weekly on Monday. The documents state Michael filed for divorce from Amy earlier this month on March 13 — just two days before the pair’s fourth wedding anniversary! Ouch!

The couple met in high school in the early 2000s and were married in March of 2019, but according to the outlet it’s possible they’d eloped years before that. Fans of the show know how in love and affectionate the couple always were — with 35-year-old Amy always sharing updates and cute photos to her Instagram. Just last year she shared a sweet memory of their wedding for their third anniversary and wrote in the caption:
“Just wanted to take the time out and wish my wonderful husband a very happy wedding anniversary. I love you so much!!!”

This was far from the only time Amy had gushed about her hubby. During the show’s 2020 premiere, she notably told the cameras:
“My husband Michael, he means the world to me. Me and Michael are newlyweds but we’ve been together four years now. I can tell him anything and everything. And Michael’s really supportive of me helping [my sister] Tammy.”
The reality star also shared snaps of a ring that Michael had gotten her in January of 2021:
“My hubby got my new ring. Nightmare before Christmas. On the inside it says true love never dies.”
“True love never dies.” A sad sentiment now… It’s a shame they couldn’t work it out, they always seemed to be so happy together!
The news of their breakup comes just eight months after the birth of their second son. Last year in February, ahead of the birth of Glenn Allen Halterman, Amy gushed to The Sun:
“He loves me and supports me. He don’t care how much I weigh, how much I lose. He don’t care. He just wants me and the babies to be healthy. He’s excited about being a dad again, [but] secretly he wanted a girl.”
The now-exes are also parents to 2-year-old Gage Deon Halterman.
