“OMG. I think I’m being kidnapped.”
That was the last text 14-year-old April Millsap ever sent her boyfriend. The ominous message now serves as a clue for cops in Armada, Michigan who are investigating April’s mysterious murder.
The recent middle school grad was walking her dog along Macomb Orchard Trail last week when police say she was attacked and killed by a still unknown suspect. Hours later, a couple walking along the wooded path came across her body, being guarded by the loyal family collie named Penny.
An autopsy has confirmed that April was murdered and authorities have already ruled out her parents as well as the boyfriend who received that chilling text message.
Officials say they’ve already received 500 tips and believe they’re looking for a man with sandy brown or reddish hair. A homicide task force is now working around the clock to hunt this guy down.
Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw spoke about the case, saying:
“We are pretty confident that we are zeroing in on the person who did this and the person knows that as well.├óΓé¼┬¥
We certainly hope investigators solve this crime soon. Our hearts go out to the family of this girl, gone from this world far, far too soon.
