There are few things sadder in this world than losing a child.
Just because a baby wasn’t born yet, that doesn’t make a miscarriage any easier to handle.
Ashley Salazar, now 22, star from 16 And Pregnant, has suffered a tragic miscarriage.
She and her boyfriend Justin Lane were excited for her to become a mom for a second time. But it just wasn’t in the cards.
Ashley said:
“It has been really hard, [I’m] really, really disappointed and upset. I guess it wasn├óΓé¼Γäót meant to be. But I was prepared [for the worst], because at my eight-week checkup the doctor told me I was only measuring at six weeks. The doctor told me I was going to have a miscarriage and that there was nothing I could have done to prevent that. They said that 50% of all pregnancies end in a miscarriage.”
That’s so sad, but Ashley and her boyfriend are leaning on each other for support through this tough time.
She’s trying her hardest to look on the bright side, saying:
“We were really, really sad. We had been really excited about having another baby, but learning that it wasn├óΓé¼Γäót happening so early was a blessing I guess. We were crying and upset and hurt.”
That’s when she decided to have a D&C procedure at the same hospital she had her daughter Callie.
She continued:
“I love it there. I was kind of scared, but they put me under and I was comfortable the whole time. There was no pain whatsoever, and I didn├óΓé¼Γäót bleed for long at all.”
We’re so glad the procedure was easy at least! She’s been through so much.
There is a light at the end of her dark tunnel.
“After everything has healed, we can try again. I think that is when my relationship with Justin will be even better. And even though I was upset, I know everything happened for a reason. We had tough times in our relationship but this clearly wasn├óΓé¼Γäót the right time to have a baby.”
She is so incredibly mature. Ashley is being so strong about everything!
