5 Arrested For Selling Illegal Animal Parts

We just posted great news for gorillas seeking sanctuary in Africa, but are now reminded WHY these wonderful creatures need it in the first place.
5 people were arrested in Gabon, a country in Africa, for dealing illegal animal parts, including gorilla and chimpanzee heads, elephant tails, snake skins, and leopard skins.

It is disturbing to think who would want such a thing, but is a reminder that it is still an uphill battle to protect these endangered animals.
A woman from Benin and four men from Nigeria were arrested on January 13 in Gabon’s capital, Libreville, and face up to 6 months in jail if convicted for dealing in illegal animal parts.
13 ape heads were confiscated along with two hands from gorillas, 30 chimp hands, 12 leopard skins, a partial lion skin, snake skins, and 5 elephant tails.
That is terrible!
Thankfully these criminals were caught, but know there are more out there!
Please don’t support this disgusting trade people and instead choose to support all the beautiful life, plant or animal, on the only planet we have.
