Charges Dropped In Mateo Surf Battle

Good news for two surfers charged of attacking a photographer!
A judge has dropped the charges against surfers Skylar Peak and Philip Hildebrand who were accused of attacking a photographer after they saw him shooting photos of Matthew McConaughey on a Malibu beach.
A spokeswoman for the L.A. Country district attorney’s office said that the charges were dismissed after prosecutors decided against starting a third trial. The first trial was postponed after Peak’s mother had been seriously injured in a car crash and the second trial resulted in a deadlock jury.
Peak’s attorney Harland Braun said the case had been poorly investigated and shouldn’t have been filed in the first place. He also claimed that the paparazzi video of the fight that the photographer presented had been manipulated to implicate the surfers.
Now the two dudes can get back to their totally tubular hanging ten routine.
