Travis Kelce's Ex Responds To 'Ridiculous' Rumor They Broke Up Because He Did THIS

Kayla went on the Unapologetically Angel podcast Thursday and was asked about the persistent rumor she dumped the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end because he was… cheap!

Apparently, there’s been a viral theory going around claiming Trav would, despite his NFL salary, require his then-GF to go halvesies on everything. Host Angel Reese asked if it there was any truth to the rumors they’d “split bills 50/50.” Kayla was having none of it. She declared:

“No. This is the question. Do I look like I would go 50/50 on bills?”

When Angel agreed she didn’t, the sports broadcaster said:

“OK. so yeah — that was ridiculous.”

Clearly she’d heard the rumor before and was NOT amused by the idea folks thought she’d go Dutch ever! LOLz! She told the host stinginess “was never an issue in our relationship but it was definitely a rumor on the internet.”

LOLz! We love how insulted she was by the very idea! She’s not even intentionally defending Trav, just herself! Ha!

For what it’s worth, Trav has spoken about this, too. The rumor has been going around since WAY before he started dating Taylor Swift. He was asked about it on the Pivot podcast in January 2023 and slapped it down:

“How crazy is that? Don’t buy into that s**t!”

He made clear he wasn’t just some sugar daddy for her though — it wasn’t a one-sided relationship OR some kind of forced 50/50 thing:

“I would never say that I was supporting her. She had a very financially stable life and what she was doing in her career. You’ve got to be crazy if you think I’d never helped or gave her a couple dollars to grab some food or she gave me some money… We were in a relationship for five years. A hundred dollars here and hundred dollars there wasn’t even thought about, which is ridiculous.”

Inneresting how they both called it “ridiculous.” And it really is. We mean, wouldn’t you learn right away if someone had a weird money hangup that didn’t match with yours? How could you end up dating someone for five years if you couldn’t get past who paid on the first date? And who would break up with someone over something that insignificant??
