Comedian Laura Clery ‘Nearly Killed’ In Freak Accident In Front Of Her Young Children: ‘I Was Crushed By A 600-Pound Fridge’

Laura Clery just survived a terrifying near-death experience… in front of her two young children!

On Thursday, the comedian opened up about an intense freak accident that “nearly killed” her: a 600-pound refrigerator “crushed” her! In a post on her Patreon, the 39-year-old revealed her “worst nightmare came true” in that she got “seriously hurt at home while I was the only adult there with my kids.” She revealed:

“I have this massive French door fridge that weighs, I’m not kidding, 500 to 600 pounds. It’s supposed to be mounted into the wall, like a normal, responsible appliance that doesn’t try to kill you. Two nights ago, my son [Alfie, 7], being exactly who he is, decided to climb it. I saw it shift slightly, just enough to make my stomach drop. So I ran over to push it back into place. I thought I’d just nudge it in and move on with my day like a woman who has control over her life. The second I pushed it, it came down on me. Not slowly. Not in a way where I could catch it or jump out of the way. It just fell. The full weight of it slammed me backward into the kitchen island, pinning my lower back and hips. I couldn’t move. I tried to push it off and it didn’t even slightly budge. It felt like pushing against a building.”

She recalled the gravity of the situation setting in during that moment:

“I realized, oh, this is actually bad.  Like, not ‘this will be a funny story later’ bad. This is ‘I might genuinely be in danger right now’ bad.”

Laura went on:

“My breathing started to go. I could feel it getting harder to inhale, like my body was just slowly deciding to shut down. The pain was so intense it almost didn’t feel real.”

She revealed her 5-year-old daughter Poppy started to cry, “which honestly snapped me into even more panic because now it wasn’t just me, it was them watching this happen. Alfie ran outside, thank God, probably scared out of his mind.”

In a post on her Facebook the same day, Laura shared a selfie wearing a neck brace and breathing tube, revealing she wants to sue the contractors who installed her refrigerator:

“I want to f#%king sue the contractors who installed this fridge. This is a nearly 600 pound stainless steel French door fridge that was NOT properly mounted into the wall. Because of that, my 7 year old was able to pull it forward, and when I tried to push it back, it fell on me and was fully crushing me. It nearly killed me. And it could have absolutely killed my child. This should never have been possible. This was negligence.”

How TERRIFYING!!!

On Saturday, Laura took to Instagram to share a video of her in the same neck brace and breathing tube being tended to by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters. She says in the clip:

“So I was crushed by a 600-pound fridge.”

She wrote alongside the video:

“This was right after the fentanyl hit and all of my pain away (instantly) I just need to say THANK YOU to these AMAZING firefighters who saved my life!! Truly. They got there so fast, broke through my garage door, and 3 of them pushed a 600 pound fridge off of me and got me safely to the trauma unit before things got worse. I keep thinking about how differently this could have gone and I just feel overwhelming gratitude. No broken bones, my kids are okay and safe, I can walk… I’m so lucky!”

Thank goodness! She continued:

“They were calm, kind and just handled everything like absolute heroes! And then right as one of them pushes the fridge off me, he goes, ‘Wait… I watch all of your videos!’ and they all start hyping me up like sir… I am currently being flattened but thank you. Forever grateful for these men. Real life angels.
