Kate Cassidy is looking back on some precious memories she has with Liam Payne.
It’s been nearly two years since we tragically lost Liam in a devastating accident in Buenos Aires. It’s no doubt been particularly devastating for Kate, who was his girlfriend at the time of his death. They were clearly so in love, and she’s been open and honest about struggling to move on from the tragedy. Our heart truly breaks for her.
On TikTok Tuesday, the 27-year-old model took a walk down memory lane. She explained that she’s always missing Liam, and she said she likes to look back at some of the love letters he wrote her when she’s feeling particularly down.
She said in the video:
“I was just reading this one letter and I have to say sometimes his handwriting is a little messy. So sometimes I struggle reading his letters, but for my birthday he bought me a car. I’m like shaking because I’m getting sad.”
Aww…
She continued:
“I haven’t read this letter in so long. I feel like if you’ve lost somebody, it almost helps to read a letter and think as if they wrote it literally like from heaven and they’re giving it to you like today.”
Kate then read the letter that Liam wrote her:
“I hope whenever you take a journey you remember I’m alongside you body and spirit. In every drive you remember how much you have driven me and all the hopes and dreams I have for your future. You’re going to be a superstar if you learn how to love yourself the way I love you.”

“I’m alongside you body and spirit”? Wow… It has such a different meaning now.
She continued to read the note:
“So drive slow and remember to take your foot off the gas in life too. Your 20s are so difficult and you’re halfway through navigating them. You’re not lost at all my love. You’re taking the gorgeous road to finding yourself and I can’t wait to be there for every speed bump, left and right turn and roundabout. I love you.”
So precious. Poor Kate broke down into tears after she finished reading it, and added:
“I know he’s like cheering me on from up above.”
