A bigger picture has been drawn surrounding Jeremiah ‘Shawn’ Duffey and his alleged horrifying behavior.
On July 23, Jeremiah and his estranged wife Sara Gilson were found dead with gunshot wounds in her Owasso, Oklahoma home. According to police audio, a woman can be heard screaming in the background of a 911 call that a child in Sara’s home made the night of the shooting. A family member later alleged to Tulsa’s News Pulse that Jeremiah broke into the home to kill Sara before turning the gun on himself. Luckily, the child was not physically harmed in the process.
So, so awful.

Two weeks before the tragic shooting, Sara made a now-viral TikTok in which she accused Jeremiah of being a “pedophile.” Using the Netflix documentary confessional trend, where users sit down in front of a camera as dramatic music swells, she wrote:
“Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon to be ex husband who I just found out is a pedophile.”
She added in her caption, “I wish I was joking.” Watch (below):

Prior to her death, Sara had filed for protective orders against Jeremiah in 2021 and again on June 10 of this year, claiming he had a gun, threatened suicide, “and went on the run.” She was granted the order, which was later extended through August 24. It was also revealed, however, that another woman filed for a protective order against Jeremiah on behalf of her 15-year-old daughter, who played on a youth basketball team Jeremiah coached. According to The Oklahoman, the mother claimed Jeremiah kissed and touched her daughter, in addition to other inappropriate behavior, but was caught by another coach.
Incredibly disturbing information… Which we now have more of.
On Monday, TMZ reported Jeremiah was the focus of multiple state investigations involving the 15-year-old. According to police docs seen by the outlet, the teen and a parent reported him on June 9 after an alleged incident at an Oklahoma elementary school. Police say another coach witnessed Jeremiah inappropriately touching the teen, so they intervened and contacted the minor’s parents. However, before Owasso Police Department officers could arrive, Jeremiah reportedly fled the scene.
Afterwards, news of additional instances of Jeremiah’s alleged abusive behavior toward the same teen surfaced — in multiple law-enforcement jurisdictions in other states. But because Jeremiah was a member of the Osage Nation and the alleged incident occurred on tribal territory, the case has been passed on to the US Attorney’s Office for review under the Federal Major Crimes Act, according to TMZ. However, police listed Jeremiah’s alleged crimes as lewd molestation of a minor.
Per TMZ, police say Sara was informed of Jeremiah’s alleged behavior during their investigation and advised to seek the protective order she was ultimately granted.
This case continues to be so disturbing. Sadly, Sara left behind two children from a previous marriage. Additionally, Jeremiah’s ex-wife told TMZ the daughters they share together refused to see him in light of the accusations against him.
