Well, this is an interesting twist from inside the White House…
Melania Trump has reportedly been complaining about husband Donald Trump‘s sweeping immigration crackdown. And the reason is VERY personal: she’s been hating the immigration moves because people she knows have apparently been deported!
Yes, really!
According to a brand-new report from The Wall Street Journal on Thursday, the First Lady told aides that people she knew were being removed from the United States under her husband’s policies. And in addition, TMZ and others report that she’s been voicing her frustration to close advisers over the past year.

And it sounds like Donald was listening. At least… uh… sometimes!
The WSJ reports that after Melania raised her concerns, the president told advisers that Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff and a driving force behind the mass-deportation push, had gone “too far.” Miller has championed an aggressive effort to arrest and deport undocumented immigrants across the country.
But there’s a catch! Donald has reportedly defended Miller’s tough approach in other conversations with aides. So it’s not exactly clear where the president stands behind closed doors — or whether Melania’s complaints have changed anything on the ground.
And yet she’s apparently not the only one raising alarms, either!
According to the report, Republicans in Texas and Florida have also privately complained to the White House about Miller’s hard-line tactics when it comes to immigration and mass deportations. The revelations come just days after Republicans suffered major losses in the midterm elections, amid growing controversy surrounding the administration’s immigration enforcement.
Of course, the immigration crackdown has sparked nationwide protests for months now, especially after federal agents fatally shot two US citizens in Minneapolis earlier this year. Those deaths have intensified scrutiny of the administration’s deportation tactics — which, frankly, haven’t been very good.

What’s especially striking here is that Melania rarely speaks publicly about her husband’s political decisions. Yet the Journal previously reported in March that she was also among those urging a change in course right after the turmoil in Minnesota, too. So, this is clearly an issue that is near and dear to her heart.
And now, we’re learning just how close to home this issue hit. The big question remains, though: will Donald actually change course — or will Melania’s objections remain strictly behind closed doors?
