Good thing? Bad thing? We just don’t know what to think!
The Simon Wiesenthal Center, a well-respected organization in the Jewish community, just released its “2010 Top Ten Anti-Semitic Slurs” list.
Yes, they have one of those. No, we don’t know why or who thought it was a good idea to keep a record of this sort of thing. No, we don’t know why they would rate the comments either. Not the point.
Point is, Mel Gibson and his alleged tirade against Harvey Weinstein didn’t make the list, being beaten out by the likes of Oliver Stone and the journalist Helen Thomas, who took the #1 spot with this gem:
“Jews should get the hell out of Palestine. They should go home to Germany, Poland, America and everywhere else.”
That’s pretty bad. Can’t say that it is worse than “I want Jew blood on my hands,” though.
Soooo…should we like congratulate Mel for being not as repulsive as 10 other people or something?
