Madge's Collaborator Sued For $10 Million

Madonna’s longtime co-writer John “Jellybean” Benitez is probs going to have less-than-warm feelings towards the song Holiday.

Unfortunately for Benitez, he collaborated on the hit song with Spirit One Music group. And they’re suing him because they feel they’ve been cheated out of $10 million in royalties, which “Jellybean” was in charge of distributing.

According to the lawsuit, Benitez “repeatedly and unrepentantly misstated and underreported revenues due to its joint owner, Spirit,” along with “repeatedly, systematically and intentionally made delinquent and tardy payments [to Spirit].”

The suit also says Benitez “concocted flimsy, bad-faith excuses for its inaccuracy.”
