Keith Olbermann's No Longer On MSNBC: Was He Fired Or What?

There are some conflicting reports, but here is what we know. Last night, an abrupt end came to Keith Olberman’s MSNBC show as the network decided to end their contract with him and count last night’s broadcast as his final show.
The surprise announcement was a shock for everyone who enjoys watching the station’s most-watched evening anchor, especially since we were all certain they got past whatever their disagreements were three months ago, after they suspended him and rehired him and all.
Neither side has offered an explanation for their split. On the air, Keith said his goodbyes and thanked viewers. MSNBC sent out this email just before Keith signed off, saying:

“MSNB thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

And that was it. The network has already found a replacement for his time slot, meaning they were ready to pull this punch before Friday night and Keith is a free agent.
Or is he? One source is reporting that Keith didn’t so much part ways with the network as he got fired from it! Insiders say Comcast exces, who bought out NBC, weren’t pleased with Keith’s “defiance” so they kicked him out. However, if this is the case, his contract is still in effect and he’ll get the rest of his salary for the next two years – around $7 million a year.
Not only that, but being still under contract, he maybe forced to go into radio silence for at least 6 months.
So, this is like a really awesome paid vacation. No offense, MSNBC, but we think you made a HUGE boo-boo with this one. Keith now has his millions and time to play with them. What do you guys have?
