At least she still has the memories…
During a recent interview, Dolly Parton spoke up about losing old recordings and footage from early on in her career.
Here’s what she had to say about it:
“Actually I have lost a lot of my early footage… and a lot of the songs that I had written, because I started writing songs when I was a child. I used the old Wollensak tape recorder, the reel to reel, and it started to die away and I didn’t realize that was going to happen.”
“A few years ago I had to have people come in and try to save as much of it as they could. We lost a few things. That’s a bad thing.”
We’re sorry to hear that, Dolly.
Keep your chin up, though! You’ve still got many, many years to add LOTS of wonderful new material to that footage collection of yours!
