So horrific.
We hate hearing stories like this, and hate having to write these kind of articles. We do it in case it’ll stop someone else from doing something similar.
Kipp Rusty Walker, a very troubled 19 year old, stabbed himself to death with a six inch blade, on stage, at an open mic, after playing a song called Sorry For All The Mess.
The audience tragically was under the impression that it was a performance piece, and clapped and cheered as the young musician ended his life right there in front of everyone.
We can not imagine the kind of pain that he would have to be going through for him to do this, and we feel for his family in friends.
He had no right, however, to scar and potentially permanently effect an entire audience negatively for the rest of their lives.
Here’s what a friend of his had to say:
├óΓé¼╦£It was almost like he wanted to prove a point, like there’s no point in being scared of death because it’s going to happen to us anyway,├óΓé¼Γäó He added that Walker told him he first wanted to kill himself on March 20, so he told his parents who took him to the psychiatric unit at St Charles Medical Centre in Bend.
Walker, described as a transient, was released a few days later. The friend added that there was nothing he could do to help Walker.
‘I actually told him, I was like, “Dude, this is going to mess a lot of people up”,’ the friend said.
Such a bizarre and horrible thing to happen.
If you or anyone you know is suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts, please DO NOT hesitate to find help. There are always other options. Always.
