This is a pretty phenomenal achievement, too. A major milestone for a school, let alone one that dealt with the tragedy of Katrina and was then “adopted” by Sandra in 2007.
Every single student in the 220 member senior class graduated.
Every one of them! But not only that, they earned $4,625,100 in scholarships from 15 different colleges!
The actress, who donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the school for an on-campus health clinic, band uniforms, renovation of the auditorium, and scholarships, had this to say:
“I cannot express how proud I am of the 2011 graduating class at Warren Easton. To achieve a 100% graduation rate just goes to show that the recipe for success lies under that roof. People who believe, people who love and support, and people who don’t take no for an answer.├óΓé¼┬¥
That is a monumental feat, students!
We are truly inspired by this, and with all our hearts say…
Congratulations, Warren Easton Charter High graduating class of 2011!!
2012, you’ve got a lot to live up to! Hit the books! Ha!
