Were there smoke monsters in The Hobbit??
If there were, we’re sure that Kate Evangeline Lilly will find them. She has just been cast by Peter Jackson for a role in the film!
She’ll be playing Tauriel, the Woodland Elf, according to Jackson:
Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means ‘daughter of Mirkwood’ and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life.
Evangeline and Barry, along with Welsh actor Luke Evans as Bard and Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug, just about rounds out the major casting. I cannot wait to get stuck into these new scenes!
Awesome, sounds like it’ll be a important role regardless of it being new!
We’re sure she’s pumped about it, but we would like to point something out…
She dated Dominic Monaghan while they were on Lost at one point. He played one of the hobbits, Merry, from the original LOTR Trilogy. Hmm!
Is this a coincidence, or do U think he pulled some strings??
