Connexion, the dating site exclusively for the LGBT community, is saying farewell.
Unfortunately, they just couldn’t make enough money to stay afloat.
In a statement released on their website, Connexion tells members:
After 8 years of operation we have decided to close Connexion on Wednesday September 14. Effective immediately, no new members will be able to join Connexion. This was a tough decision that we know will impact nearly 200,000 members on Connexion and we will miss the community that Connexion has become (and even a few of the flame wars on Q&Q). Though 2011 has been the best year for us in terms of income and site growth it has not been enough to make us profitable. We feel those funds can best be directed towards other philanthropic efforts.
Oh well! Guess we’ll just stick to OK, Cupid from now on!
