Johnny Depp Is Happy To Take Your Money

It’s for the children, after all.
We bet when Johnny Depp was making What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, he had no idea that he would be making in one year 10-times as much money as the flick grossed at the box-office. But times they have changed, and Johnny is a megastar who pulls in the mega-bucks.
Always mild mannered and humble, you would think that Johnny would have some concerns with the amount of $$$ thrown his way to make silly voices and swashbuckle around. Guess what? He doesn’t – but he has a good reason not to be. He shares:

“Basically, if they’re going to pay me the stupid money right now, I’m going to take it. I have to. I mean, it’s not for me. Do you know what I mean? At this point, it’s for my kids. It’s ridiculous, yeah, yeah. But ultimately is it for me? No. No. It’s for the kids.”

Hope those kids know how lucky they are. Dad banked a cool $100 million dollars last year. That’s more than enough to pay off college, buy a nice car, live in a nice house and retire at 35 for each kid.
