Wow.
River Phoenix’s final film Dark Blood never saw the light of day, but now Dutch film director George Sluizer has announced that he’s going to finish it for release in 2012.
Sluizer has already re-edited original footage from the 1993 drama film, and he believes that it can be ready for release next year with a few adjustments, as well as the addition of voice over…possibly by River’s brother Joaquin Phoenix.
Here’s how River’s final film has been described:
“In Dark Blood, Phoenix plays a hermit living in the desert on a nuclear testing site as he waits for the end of the world. When a Hollywood jet-set couple (played by Judy Davis and Jonathan Pryce) arrives to find shelter, he begins a troubled relationship with the wife.”
We seriously never expected to see River Phoenix on the big screen again, but it’ll be nice to see the final piece of work he created before his tragic death in 1993.
Will U check out Dark Blood when it gets released next year?
