Virginia Tech Announces Death Of Police Officer & Parking Lot Victim After School Shooting Today!

So sad! We can’t even imagine the horror of being on campus right now.
According to the school’s newspaper, which has been live-tweeting during this whole ordeal, has released a statement from Virginia Tech officials. sadly, the police officer and second victim in the school’s parking lot have both been reported dead.
At present, it sounds like the gunman is at large, heading towards Squires Student Center. The students in the center are being moved to a secure room and police are hearing in that direction in hopes of heading the gunman off.
Our condolences to the families of these two fallen souls. Here’s hoping everyone else stays safe.
UPDATE: Official statement from Virginia Tech spokesman Mark Owczarski confirms that the campus officer was killed. He then added:
“Witnesses reported to police the shooter fled on foot heading toward the Cage, a parking lot near Duck Pond Drive. At that parking lot, a second person was found. That person is also deceased.”
