At the SAG Awards last night, Modern Family exec producer Steven Levitan revealed that an upcoming storyline is NOT one taken from his own-life experiences, as so many in the past have. In an upcoming episode, Ty Burrell’s character Phil learns that his eldest daughter Haley is “not a virgin and has to deal with that.”
Um, was he not paying attention for the several season that kid Dylan was running around? Oh yeah — they totally did it! LOL!
To make things worse, Ty’s on-screen wife Claire (Julie Bowen) has known for awhile, and Ty explains that Phil is “horrified.” However, he adds that the whole thing “ends up being very heartfelt and meaningful.”
Why do we have a strong feeling that it’s probably going to be very HIGHlarious before it gets to the heartfelt part? Oh yeah, because it just won the SAG Award for Best Ensemble comedy and you don’t get one of those unless you can make people laugh so hard that they pee. That’s right! We remember now!
