We had a hard time writing that title, because it’s so ridiculous.
The controversy isn’t hard to see, because it’s a terrible idea!
The Beverly Hills Wine Festival, which happens to be taking place in Beverly Hills at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, had planned a tribute to Whitney Houston.
It was supposed to be on February 26, and would have been a cognac and champagne tasting.
Oh, and this event wasn’t sanctioned or approved by the Houston family.
Here’s what’s being said about it:
“It was a tacky, and tasteless tribute to Whitney. A wine festival honoring Whitney at the hotel where she DIED? Members of Whitney’s inner circle conveyed their concerns to Beverly Hilton Hotel management and they were assured the event would be quashed. There was no way the Beverly Hilton would allow this event to take place at the hotel where Whitney had just died.├óΓé¼┬¥
We agree!!
Here’s what the group said it was meant to be:
“Remembering Whitney [is meant to] honor our dear friend Whitney Houston [with] her timeless music and powerful voice.”
And lots of booze in the hotel where she died!
Terrible!
The good news is that it HAS been canceled, with the hotel citing a scheduling conflict (which was never specified).
Do U think that this would be in good taste??
