Beebs, you truly are a role model, and not just because you’re famous!
Today is Justin’s 18th birthday and instead of throwing some extravagant birthday bash, Beebs is forsaking his birthday for charity.
He tweeted yesterday:
i want to use my bday to help others. if u want please donate $18 to @charitywater on my 18th bday! #GiveBack – charitywater.org/justinbieber
Rather than give Beebs a present, he asks fans to give to Charity:Water, a non-profit organization that claims to contribute 100% of its donations to helping those in developing nations gain access to clean, safe water.
And this isn’t the first time Justin has given up his b-day for something so wonderful. Last year he raised $47,148 for Charity:Water, bringing clean water to over 2,357 people.
BUT this year, Beebs is taking it even further by inviting all fans to bogart their birthdays in favor of helping others.
According to reps at Charity:Water, 1 birthday fundraiser brings in an average of $1,000 to the foundation. If 1000 of Bieber’s fans participated, that could mean a potential of over $1 million! Now that’s a lot of clean water.
