The fight between the common American and f**king RIDICULOUS movie theatre snack prices has officially begun!
The right to eat cheap, unhealthy food is a right us Americans celebrate pretty much constantly…. unless they’re in a movie theatre.
We’ve all said that trapping people in a cold dark room for two hours without remotely affordable food or beverages should be illegal, and Michigan’s Joshua Thompson agrees!
He has bravely filed a class-action lawsuit against his local AMC theater, and their shitty snack prices.
Joshua says charging a zillion bucks for a pack of raisinets, while not allowing patrons to bring in their own snacks, is a violation of Michigan’s Consumer Protection Act. Like us, he demands there the be a law that prohibits movie theaters from:
“charging the consumer a price that is grossly in excess of the price at which similar property or services are sold.”
Speaking with absolutely zero legal background on this case — we say he’s DEFF gonna win this thing!! Howeves, legal experts say he doesn’t have much of a case.
Still, we’re not giving up the dream. If this law is passed, a statue of Josh should go up in ever town center in the country!!
