Ugh! So sad!
Thomas Kinkade, an American artist whose paintings made $100 million a year, passed away earlier this week at just 52-years-old.
We had heard he struggled with alcoholism, but didn’t know to what extent. Now his brother Patrick has revealed it was becoming VERY serious issue in the days leading up to his death.
After battling his addiction for years, he sobered up, but unfortunately relapsed when his wife left him in 2010. Sources say he had been drinking the entire night before he was found dead.
It wasn’t just the split that he nurtured with alcohol either. Although Thomas pretended not to care that his work was often critically panned, his brother revealed he soothed the painful rejection with booze, saying:
“He would shoulder the world, pull the naysayers on his back and smile when he was doing it. As much as he said it didn’t bother him, in his heart deep down inside it would sadden him that people would criticize so hatefully his work and his vision when people didn’t understand him.”
His death has been declared the result of “natural causes”, but did his alcohol dependency have anything to do with it? An autopsy is underway so only time will tell for sure.
If U are struggling with ANY addiction, please GET HELP before it’s too late!
