Remember when we said that The Avengers was tracking to be a massive hit? Well, new predictions have bumped the opening weekend’s box office up from $100+ million to $150+ million!
It seems like EVERYONE is talking about this movie and it makes sense. If you’ve ever enjoyed a superhero movie, why WOULDN’T you want to see a movie about seven of them???
Sources are reporting that 85% of the country is aware of this movie, while only 76% were aware of The Dark Knight and 74% knew what The Hunger Games was.
On top of that, interest in the male community is surging through the roof and even women are more innerested in this superhero movie then they were of The Dark Knight, which holds the record for second best domestic opening of all time with $158.4 million.
As we said before, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 opened to nearly $170 million. We have a feeling The Avengers won’t beat that, but we have no doubt that the movie has potential to become a bigger blockbuster then the last Batman movie or The Hunger Games.
