The reviews are in for HBO’s newest comedy Girls Veep!
The show starring Elaine Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Sarah Palin a female Vice President, pulled 1.4 million viewers for it’s first showing of the premiere Sunday.
That’s not amazeballz, but it’s better than the debut of network’s other new chick comedy, Girls.
And what’s more, the critics all seem to think the same thing: Julia is the shizzz!!
EW said:
“Julia Louis-Dreyfus gives such a commanding performance in Veep, that the opening half-hour sped by so quickly and so enjoyably, I barely noticed that I never actually laughed during its 30 minutes.”
CNN wrote:
“Sunday night’s premiere episode definitely lived up to its potential.”
New York Daily News thinks the show is fell short, but also:
“Veep has some smart, witty writing as well as a fine comic performance by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.”
In short, the comedy is good, but not “LOL” funny.
We’re definitely gonna give this show a shot.
