We JUST found out that How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying is closing, and NOW Leap Of Faith announced they’re jumping ship too! Boo!
It’s pretty sad. The show has been running less that a month, and not even their Tony nomination for Best Musical has helped them fill seats.
What’s odd is ticket sales have surged for other Best Musical nominees Nice Work If You Can Get It and Once, after their Tony nods.
The only explanation we can make for the musical’s failure is: people just aren’t interested in a revival about a duplicitous faith healer in rural Kansas. That, and maybe they should have gotten a someone more famous than Raul Esparza for the lead. Just say’n.
Leap Of Faith‘s last performance is May 13.
WHOMP, WHOMP!
