Aside from the ill-tempered sea bass from Austin Powers, who actually uses lasers to hurt other people?!
A JetBlue plane bound for New York City nearly crashed after the pilots were blinded by some unidentified Jedi prankster who shined a laser pen at the cockpit from up to a mile away.
One pilot radioed into the control tower for help. He said:
“We just got lasered up here — two green flashes into the cockpit.”
Yikes!! Thank Heavens no one was hurt this time!!
The FBI is searching for the person or persons responsible, but they don’t have many leads.
Look, we know lasers are AWESOME!!
We use them in everything from medical procedures to PowerPoint presentations!
Their cultural significance extends from Pink Floyd concerts to the underrated ’80s comedy Real Genius, starring Val Kilmer.
But lasers are NOT a toy!
Well, sometimes they’re a cat toy… but COME ON, guys, stop trying to crash passenger aircraft with them!!
