Emily VanCamp is getting two big blasts from her secret past – an ex-lover, played by Barry Sloane, aaaaand the arrival of the momma we all thought was dead!
The show’s producers just announced that the actress slated to play Emily / Amanda’s evil momma is … Fast Times at Ridgemont High star Jennifer Jason Leigh!
Revenge creator Mike Kelley says Jennifer’s character is one complicated Clarke, explaining:
“This [character] is going to have some deep psychological issues. So we├óΓé¼Γäóre going to need somebody that can play volatile and dangerous; all of the scariest parts of Emily├óΓé¼Γäós personality are going to be present and apparent and a little bit out of control in her mother. But at the same time, what works so great for Emily is that sweet fa├â┬ºade, so this woman needs to feel like she├óΓé¼Γäós got potential for kindness. You look at her and you don├óΓé¼Γäót know that she├óΓé¼Γäós as damaged as she is inside. But you├óΓé¼Γäóll quickly learn that this is a very dangerous person.├óΓé¼┬¥
Our sources tell us the evil matriarch will be revealed early next season.
