There’s been a bloodbath at NBC!
Some of the network’s insiders are whispering about a recent job massacre at The Tonight Show, where 20-25 employees lost their jobs!
Show-host Jay Leno was said to have taken a HUGE pay cut to save as many jobs as he could, but obviously it wasn’t enough to spare everyone!
Even producers had to choose between pay cuts or lost jobs! Dayum…
But why??? It’s not like their ratings suck over there!!
Still, an NBC insider says:
“I don├óΓé¼Γäót think ad sales are off. I just think the people who bought this company, Comcast, wants to go through everything at NBC and get their money back. It├óΓé¼Γäós hard to go through those kinds of cuts. It├óΓé¼Γäós more a network issue than a late-night issue. And I would say that Jay doesn├óΓé¼Γäót get credit for digging out of a gigantic hole every single night. He├óΓé¼Γäós a very valuable guy to NBC and someday everyone will understand that. He does a great job.”
Wow…
To everyone who lost their stable income, we feel for you! We know condolences don’t pay the bills, though… so best of luck in finding another gig!
And snaps for Jay! Obviously he can survive the slash in his paycheck (apparently his new salary is $27-$30M on top of the $15-$20M he makes working appearances), but still… not everyone would be so generous!
