Guilty conscience, huh??
Or just giving in to the royals’ legal demands??
After a public outcry and a bonafide royal’s threat, French tabloid Closer Magazine has taken down their scandalous topless pics of Kate Middleton from their website.
Despite the fact that the magazine’s editor defended her decision to publish the photos AND even claiming – aka threatening to publish, that she even had photos of them having SEX – it looks like she gave in to pressure and did the gentlemanly thing by removing the photos.
The mag released a statement saying:
“Following comments received after the publication of photos of Kate and William in Closer magazine France, we would like to make the following clarifications: This is the French edition of Closer and not the English edition. The photos we chose are by no means degrading. They show a young couple on vacation, beautiful, in love, living a normal life. The article reports that the couple recently vacationed in the south of France.”
Hmm, that’s not exactly the apology Kate and the rest of the royals were looking for, but at least it’s a step in the right direction.
Besides, this story certainly isn’t over for Closer and the royal family. A palace rep confirmed:
“St. James’ Palace confirms that legal proceedings for breach of privacy have been commenced today in France by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge against the publishers of Closer Magazine France.”
That’s right! Fight for your rights! Kate certainly isn’t the type of woman to take this lying down!
