Boyfriend To Be Charged With Second-Degree Murder Of Designer

On Tuesday, Nicholas Brooks is not going to be charged with attempted murder in the death of girlfriend and designer Sylvie Cachay.

Instead, the 24 year old will be arraigned on second-degree murder charges.

The prosecutors changed their mind after viewing surveillance video from the Soho House, which showed Brooks was the only one to spend a good chunk of time in the hotel room where she was found dead.

They’ll also factor in the New York Medical Examiner’s report, which ruled that Cachay was in fact murdered by strangulation and drowning.
