Judge Puts 89 Year Old L'Oreal Heiress Under Guardianship

L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt got quite the 89th birthday present from a French judge: a legal guardian!
Judge St├â┬⌐phanie Kass-Danno made the decision based on a medical evaluation by neurologist, who said Bettencourt failed “various test questions”, as well as a psychologist that determined she suffers from anosognosia, a disorder in which a patient does not recognize that a disease exists.
Under the ruling, Liliane’s assets will be under the guardianship of her daughter Fran├â┬ºoise Bettencourt-Meyers, the same one she’s in a nasty legal battle with, while her grandson Jean-Victor Meyers looks after her health and personal life.
Not surprisingly, Bettencourt’s lawyer says she plans to appeal the ruling.
