Breast Cancer Awareness Advocate Evelyn Lauder Passes Away

Evelyn Lauder, the daughter-in-law to cosmetics company founder Estée Lauder, lost her battle to nongenetic ovarian cancer this weekend.
Almost 30 years after marrying Leonard A. Lauder, Evelyn was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1989 and quickly became a leading voice in the fight against the disease.
She is the woman credited with creating the Pink Ribbon campaign and in 1993 she founded the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which has raised more than $350 million.
Evelyn passed away in her Manhattan home on Saturday at the age of 75.
