Natalie Cole Recounts Difficult Life In Memoir

Natalie Cole has been through some harrowing moments in life, and she’s now written a book detailing each one. She recently discussed some of the experiences she writes about in an interview:

“Took me four months to do this. Painful to relive, it was not my favorite experience. See, I was very ill. In a wheelchair. Needing kidney and liver transplants. At the same time, my beloved sister was dying. Alongside her hospital bed, my cell was off. Midnight my son took a call. My doctors said they’d found a match. I must come immediately.├óΓé¼┬¥

She continued:

“I was distraught. Anxious. Crying a lot. I had survivor guilt. I hung up on them. Four a.m. they rang again.I called my business manager to ask what should I do. He said I must go. I had to find a way. My sister would have wanted me to and I must go immediately. The procedure had to be done that day. Nobody told me then but, just before my surgery, she passed on.”

Natalie also discusses her struggles with heroin addiction and weight fluctuations. Her road has been difficult, but it’s inspiring to see how she worked through it!
