In the 31-plus-years that ESPN has been on the air, this past November was the most watched month ever for the sports broadcast station.
The station had a larger total-day audience in November than any month in its history, averaging 1,189,000 homes, besting the previous mark of 1,164,000 set in September 2009.
What is responsible for the increase in viewership?
ESPN had double-digit increases for college football, NBA and college basketball, as well as the addition of three NASCAR Sprint Cup races not on the network’s schedule last year.
What does this mean?
More Americans would rather sit on their butts and watch sports than get outside and play them.
Hoo…ray?
