Cake Boss’ Sal Picinich Dies At 63

Veteran baker Sal Picinich of the Cake Boss’ bakery died on Sunday from cancer.
Sal had been baking at Carlo├óΓé¼Γäós Bakery — home of Buddy Valastro├óΓé¼Γäós Cake Boss show — for 45 year years. Buddy said that he looked at Valastro as a second father.
Lucille Picinich said her husband was “a man of little words” but that enjoyed his brief celebrity.
She continued:

“We’d go to Applegate Farms [in Montclair] and all of a sudden people would say, ‘Hey, there’s Sal!’ We went on a cruise last summer and he was spotted on the Oasis.”

So sad. Cake Boss won’t be the same without him.
